Cortland, N.Y.— A pair of impressive 3-0 wins has the Skidmore College volleyball team in the 26th SUNY Cortland Red Dragon Classic championship pool. There are 12 teams competing in the event, including four 2010 NCAA tournament teams.
The Thoroughbreds are in the championship pool for the first time in six Red Dragon appearances.
Skidmore opened with a 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-21) win over Ithaca College and then came right back for a 3-0 win against Penn State Behrend (25-19, 25-17, 25-20).
The Thoroughbreds play Liberty League rival University of Rochester in a semifinal at 12 p.m. The winner will play in the 4 p.m. championship match against the winner of Cortland/Nazareth.
