After a slow start which saw both teams struggling to score, Vassar tied the game at 3-3 with a layup by freshman guard Sam Rappaport with 16:11 remaining for the game's only tie. Skidmore answered with a nearly 7-minute, 14-0 run to take control, and the Brewers never came any closer than 10 points throughout the rest of the game.
Skidmore managed to pull away on the strength of its shooting and defensive presence, scoring 25 points off turnovers to Vassar's 11.
