Schenectady, N.Y.—The Skidmore College volleyball team opened its season with a pair of 3-0 wins over Union and Sage College. The Thoroughbreds beat Union 25-16, 25-15, 25-21 in the first match and came right back for a 25-14, 25-21, 25-15 win over Sage.
In the Union match,
Meredith Palmer had 10 kills, a .348 hitting pct. and two blocks.
Kelley Vershbow added 13 kills and a .500 hitting pct, while
Carolyn Bottelier had 8 kills, 12 digs.
Mallory Mendelsohn contributed 34 assists.
Against Sage, Palmer had 8 kills, a .429 hitting pct., and two blocks and
Mallory Mendelsohn had 24 assists, three aces.
Skidmore will play in the Ithaca Invitational Sept. 10-11
