Schenectady, N.Y.-- The Skidmore College volleyball team went 4-0 to win the Union Invitational Friday and Saturday. The Thoroughbreds were a perfect 12-0 in games, sweeping Cortland, Utica, Hartwick, and Sage.

Carolyn Bottelier made the all-tournament team. Eight teams competed and each squad was represented on the all-tournament team.
In the first match, Skidmore beat Cortland 3-0 (26-24, 27-25, 25-21).
Carolyn Bottelier had 13 kills and a .333 hitting percentage.
Mallory Mendelsohn added 34 assists and eight digs, while
Sam Friedman had 20 digs.
Meredith Palmer had three blocks, and Kelly Vershbow had nine kills and 12 digs.
Skidmore came right back to blow out Utica 3-0 (25-16, 25-13, 25-17). Vershbow had 10 kills, while Bottelier had 14 kills, nine assists, seven digs, and a .524 hitting percentage.
Erika Warren added 14 digs.
The third game was an easy 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-13) win over Hartwick. Bottelier had six kills, three aces and eight digs, with Vershbow ringing-up a double/double with 12 kills and 10 digs.
The Thoroughbreds ripped Sage 3-0 (25-15, 25-13, 25-19) in the final match. Bottelier wrapped her tournament with nine kills, a .421 hitting percentage, two aces, and nine digs. Mendelsohn had 24 assists and three aces and Palmer had 10 kills and three blocks.
Skidmore returns to action Oct. 1 at the Oneonta Invitational.
