Northfield, Vt.-- Babson College broke open a scoreless game with third period goals 20 seconds apart on the way to a 3-0 win in the ECAC East semifinals, Friday night at Norwich University.

The Beavers (14-11-2) will play Norwich in Saturday's championship game at 7 p.m. The number one ranked Cadets beat New England College 3-1 in the other semifinal. Skidmore ends its season at 9-16-2.

Neither team was able to get any offense going in the first period, with the teams combining for only seven shots. Babson took nine minutes to get its first shot on goal with only two for the period.

There was more offense in the second, but Skidmore goalie Andrew Ross stopped all 11 shots he faced and Babson goalie Zeke Testa did the same with the 10 saves in the period.

In the third, Ryan Smith gave Babson a 1-0 lead at 8:04 with a power-play goal from Casey Fazekas. The Beavers quickly made it 2-0 20 seconds later when Sean Roche skated through the Thoroughbred defense for his sixth goal of the season. Chris Wood added an empty net goal at 18:27 for the 3-0 final.

Testa finished with 24 saves for his second shutout of the season. Ross stopped 23 shots for the Thoroughbreds.
