Plattsburgh, N.Y.  -- The Skidmore College hockey team lost 9-3 at SUNY Plattsburgh in non-league action on Tuesday.

The Thoroughbreds drop to 5-8, while the fourth ranked Cardinals are 10-2-3. 

With a 2-1 second period lead, Plattsburgh scored three times in the final eight minutes of the period to put the game away. Two of the goals came 1:02  apart. 

Matt Czerkowicz, Sahsa Thomas, and Brendan Cottam scored for Skidmore.  Jon Bienkowski had 39 saves in goal.

The Thoroughbreds return to ECAC East action on Friday at Babson with a 7 p.m. game.
