Clinton, N.Y.—The Skidmore College volleyball team went 2-0 on the first day of the Hamilton Invitational to up its record to 8-3. 

The Thoroughbreds beat Union 3-0 (25-10, 25-2, 25-22) in the first match.  Kelley Vershbow had 11 kills and two blocks, while Meredith Palmer added 10 kills and three aces.  Sam Friedman contributed 11 digs, while Mallory Mendelson had 18 assists.

Skidmore finished the day with a 3-0 (25-5, 25-6, 25-18) win over Regis.  Palmer had seven kills and Becca Ormsby had 12 assists and three aces.  Erika Warren had a team-high eight digs.

The Thoroughbreds close out tournament play on Saturday against Gordon College and the University of Rochester.
