Waterville, Maine-- Colby College scored three straight goals to beat the Skidmore College hockey team 3-2 in ECAC East/NESCAC cross over action on Saturday.
The loss drops the Thoroughbreds to 3-4 overall and 2-2 in league play. Colby is 4-2.
Skidmore took a 2-0 lead on first period goals by Alex Essaris and Hunter Thayer. That was all the offense the Thoroughbreds could muster for the rest of the game.
Colby tied it in the second and then Michael Doherty scored the game-winner at 17:41 of the third for the win.
Colin Bessey had another good game in net for the Thoroughbreds with 28 saves.
Skidmore will close out the semester at home Friday night against Castleton,
