Skidmore volleyball goes 2-0 on first day of Liberty Preview

Lake Placid, N.Y.—The Skidmore College volleyball team improved to 8-2 with a pair of wins in the Liberty League Preview being played at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid.
 
The Thoroughbreds opened with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-6, 25-22) win over Vassar and then came from one game down to beat Clarkson 3-1 (19-25, 29-27, 25-8, 25-14). The tournament continues on Saturday with Skidmore playing St. Lawrence at 1 p.m. and Union at 3 p.m.
 
Against Vassar, Murray Koch had 10 kills and 14 digs. Meredith Palmer added 11 kills and two blocks and Lauren Dinsdale had 17 digs.
 
In the Clarkson win, Erica Duncan (23 kills, 16 digs) and Koch (15 kills, 13 digs) had double/doubles. Duncan added three aces. Becca Ormsby had 54 assists to go along with the 32 she had in the Vassar win.
