Volleyball off to quick start at Union Invite

Schenectady, N.Y.— The Skidmore College volleyball team is headed for a showdown with unbeaten Union College for the Union Invitational championship.

The Thoroughbreds cruised past Hartwick 3-0 (26-24,25-20,25-17) and SUNY Oswego (25-7,25-12,25-23) to go 2-0 on Friday.

Skidmore (5-1) will play Utica College on Saturday at 12 p.m. and then 11-0 Union at 2 p.m.

Against Hartwick, Meredith Palmer had 11 kills and five digs, while Erica Duncan added nine kills, 12 digs, and two aces. Lauren Dinsdale contributed 22 digs and Alicia Brown had 13 assists.

In the Oswego win, Palmer had 12 kills, Duncan 18 kills and 10 digs, and Dinsdale had 19 digs.
