Volleyball hits 20-win mark at Wellesley

Wellesley, Mass.--The Skidmore College volleyball team went 1-2 at the Wellesley College Invitational played Oct. 17-18.  The Thoroughbreds lost 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, 25-23) to Nazareth and then lost 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-19) to the host school.  Skidmore ended the competitive event with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-15, 25-16) win over Bridgewater State.

Against Nazareth, senior outside hitter Murray Koch (Palo Alto, Calif.) had a double/double with 10 kills and 10 digs.  Junior libero Lauren Dinsdale (Harrington Park, N.J.) contributed 21 digs, while sophomore setter Becca Ormsby (Charleton, N.Y.) had 31 assists.

Koch led the Thoroughbreds against Wellesley with eight kills and 13 digs.  Dinsdale had 19 digs and freshman Kelley Vershbow (Washington, D.C.) added nine kills.

In the Bridgewater win, Koch had another double/double with 13 kills and 12 digs to go along with a .429 hitting percentage.  Dinsdale had 19 digs, Ormsby 35 assists, and Meredith Palmer (Montvale, N.J.) added 14 kills.

Skidmore is 20-8 and will host the Skidmore Invitational on Oct. 24-25.
