Matthew England joins the Skidmore College Swimming and Diving team as the program’s assistant coach in August. England will work with Greenleaf with recruiting and player development.
 
“I’m excited to welcome Matt to our staff,” said Greenleaf. “I believe he’ll add a fresh perspective to the team and our training given his enthusiasm and expertise. I have no doubt he’ll continue to make Skidmore Swimming and Diving even better!”
 
Matt comes to Skidmore after a two-year assistant coaching stint at The University of Texas, Permian Basin while also completing his master’s degree in Exercise Science. At UT-Permian Basin, England focused on the sprint group and the team recorded 20 new college records.
 
A native of Maine, England was a four-time state champion at Bangor High School, before an extremely successful four-year career at the University of Maine.  England served as a team captain and earned team MVP honors twice. He currently holds program records in the 100-Back, 200-Back and 200-Medley Relay.  Following graduation, England coached at the club and high school level before entering collegiate coaching.

I look forward to working with her to make our athletes smart, strong, and successful!”
