Deidre D. Pierson joined the Skidmore Women's Basketball program in August of 2019.
Prior to her arrival, she spent three years as a volunteer assistant for the Union College Women's Basketball program where she assisted with recruiting, scouting, practice planning and on court instruction. Pierson also served as the Assistant coach for the Union Women's Golf program from 2017-2019, where she served as the program's Recruiting Coordinator.
Previous stops for Pierson have included head coach of Bishop Kelly High School Girl's basketball AAU program in Boise, Idaho, and a volunteer assistant coach for both JV and Varsity Girl's Basketball for Rainier Beach High School in Seattle, Wash.
Pierson competed at Division I’s Boise State University. As a point guard under head coach June Daugherty, she helped her team achieve a national ranking, a Big Sky Conference Co-Champions title, and earned an at-large bid into the NCAA Division I post-season tournament. Pierson earned Big Sky Conference All-Academic honors throughout her career. Prior to playing at Boise State, Pierson played for the Dawson College's Lady Blues Basketball and Sun Youth Girls AAU programs both out of Montréal.
She graduated from Boise State University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. Following her collegiate playing career, Pierson worked in the IT Management field within the Legal, Financial Services and Regulatory Compliance sectors. In tandem with her return to coaching at Union College, Pierson more recently completed a Master's of Science degree in Sport Management from SUNY-Cortland's Sport Management Professional Studies program in August, 2019.
She lives in Schenectady, N.Y. with her wife and enjoys music, dance, reading, gardening, and all things basketball and golf related.
