Jen Cornelius Horn joined the Skidmore College softball staff as a volunteer assistant for the 2018 season. She's since been promoted to an assistant coach in December 2018. Horn will continue to work with the Thoroughbred pitching staff, a role she held as a volunteer last season. Both will also work with head coach Hannah Shalett Quintana with Skidmore's annual clinics.
Horn spent last season mentoring the Thoroughbred pitchers, guiding
Amanda Carilli '18 as she finished her career with multiple pitching records. She also aided in the development of hard-throwing hurlers
Emily Popp and
Nicole Rosner.
Â
Horn has spent the last five seasons as a youth softball coach in the Capital Region, working with the Saratoga Thunder softball team as an assistant coach. She also served as a Saratoga Miss Softball board member and clinics instructor, and also gave private pitching lessons to local youth over the last three years.
Â
Horn is also an accomplished softball player, having spent four seasons as a member of the Villanova University softball team as a pitcher from 1995-98. A team captain, Horn was a three-time Big East All-Academic Team member. She earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology with an art minor in 1998, then earned her master's degree in Art Therapy at NYU in 2001.

"We were so fortunate last year to have Coach Horn join us on a volunteer basis," said Quintana. "She did a tremendous job of coming in and connecting with our pitchers right away. She has great focus, experience, and is a tremendous communicator. I am thrilled she will be around more this year and think she will help elevate our pitchers and program to new heights."
