Ethan Gunty

Entering his third season as an assistant coach with the Skidmore College men’s soccer program, Gunty has helped guide the Thoroughbreds through one of the program’s most successful stretches in recent history.
 
In 2024, Skidmore finished third in the Liberty League standings before building on that success the following season by securing the program’s first second-place finish in the Liberty League and its first 10-win season in over a decade.
 
Working closely in player development, recruiting, and match preparation, Gunty has played an integral role in the program’s continued rise, his on the field focus centers on developing the team’s attacking identity and offensive style of play.
 
Prior to Skidmore:
 
Head Coach, SUNY Adirondack Men’s Soccer, 2023-2024
  • Recruited over 15 players to help grow the program and set the team on a path to compete in the nationally recognized NJCAA Region 3 league
 Assistant Coach, St. Rose Men’s Soccer, 2019-2020
  • Advanced to the Northeast-10 finals for first-time in program history
  • Helped guide the team to a 10-6-4 record, best record in NE-10 program history
  • One All-East selection, 4 All-Conference selections, 2 All-Rookie team
 Assistant Coach, SUNY Geneseo Men’s Soccer, 2017-2018
  • Assisted team to a 9-8-2 record and a quarter-final SUNYAC playoff win and appearance in SUNYAC semi-finals

Gunty received his B.A. in political science from SUNY Geneseo before completing his M.S. in Higher Education from the University at Albany. He also holds a National D US Soccer Coaching License.
