Abby Martin was a standout player for the University of North Carolina. She was named All-American her junior and senior years. She was also selected to the NCAA and Atlantic Coast Conference All-Tournament teams her junior and senior years. Team MVP as a senior, she led the team in scoring as a sophomore with 15 goals and was second as a junior with 12 goals.

Abby played for the 2001 U.S. Women’s National Team in the Americas Cup in Kingston, Jamaica. She represented the U.S. as part of the Under-21 team in the Junior World Cup in Argentina. She Traveled to Argentina in 1999 with the Under-20 team and played in the Four Nation Tournament. She was a member of the 1998 Under-19 team that competed in the Montreal Cup and the National Indoor Tournament. She was a member of the 1997 Junior World Cup team, as well as the Under-19 team.
