TROY, N.Y. – Four Skidmore College student-athletes were recognized on the Liberty League Honor Roll for the week ending Sept. 7. Ella Costa (field hockey), Evan Riccelli (men's soccer), Sophia Sayers (women's soccer), and Chloe Heitman (volleyball) picked up the recognition.
 
Ella Costa (#5, Jr., M, Gloucester, Massachusetts) – Liberty League Field Hockey Honor Roll
Costa got off to a hot start with seven points over the first two games for the Thoroughbreds on a pair of goals and three assists. She had a goal and three helpers to lead Skidmore past Utica, 8-2, on Tuesday. She then scored Skidmore's goal on Saturday in a loss to Geneseo.
 
Evan Riccelli (#26, So., M, Suffield, CT) – Liberty League Men's Soccer Honor Roll
Riccelli scored the game-winning goal on a penalty kick in the 73^rd minute on Tuesday as the Thoroughbreds opened the season with a 1-0 win over Buffalo State. It was the sophomore's first-career goal. He then started and played 32 minutes on Friday in the road game at Endicott – a 1-0 Skidmore loss.
 
Sophia Sayers (0, Junior, GK, Sandown, New Hampshire) – Liberty League Women's Soccer Honor Roll
Sayers did not surrender a goal across two games played and one start over the weekend for the Thoroughbreds. She had six saves in keeping No. 13 Swarthmore off the board in 64 minutes in goal for Skidmore. She then added five more saves on Saturday at Widener for the shutout in the goalless draw.
 
Chloe Heitman (#9, So., OH, Acton, Massachusetts) – Liberty League Women's Volleyball Honor Roll
Skidmore's representative on the All-Tournament Team at Springfield's Dearing Classic, Heitman averaged 2.43 kills per set across 14 sets played in a 3-1 week for the Thoroughbreds. She had nine or more kills in each of the three matches at Springfield, including 11 in both the first and third matches of the weekend. She hit .184 for the week and averaged 2.21 digs per set.
