TROY, N.Y. – Skidmore College men's tennis senior Yuval Goodman was named the Liberty League Singles Performer of the Week, and field hockey first-year Izzy Blake was tabbed the Rookie of the Week for the week ending Sept. 27. Additionally, Colby Paul and Gianna DiGioacchino (field hockey), as well as Abby Lewis (women's soccer) were recognized on the Honor Roll.
 
Yuval Goodman (Sr., Toronto, Ontario) – Liberty League Men's Tennis Singles Performer of the Week
Goodman won five straight singles matches over the weekend to reach the ITA Northeast Regional final – granting him automatic selection to next month's ITA Cup in Georgia. Goodman got through opponents from Union, Saint Francis, Rochester, Hamilton, and finally Eddie Zeng from Rochester to reach Monday morning's title match against top-seeded Kevin Titus Suresh of Saint Francis.  
 
Izzy Blake (#11, Fr., F, Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts) – Liberty League Field Hockey Rookie of the Week
Blake scored a hat trick on Saturday in Skidmore's 9-3 Liberty League-opening win over St. Lawrence. She scored her first in the closing seconds of the first half to make it 5-2 Skidmore before adding a pair of insurance markers a minute apart in the fourth to complete the scoring. She had seven shots, with six on target, in the win.
 
Colby Paul (#16, Sr., F, Cheshire, Connecticut) - Liberty League Field Hockey Honor Roll
Paul scored two goals, two in each game, for the Thoroughbreds in a pair of dominant wins last week. She had a pair, including one on a penalty stroke, in Tuesday's 8-1 non-league win vs. Castleton. Then, as Skidmore opened Liberty League play with a 9-3 victory over St. Lawrence, she scored twice more marking her third straight game with multiple goals.
 
Gianna DiGioacchino (#4, Sr., D, Cranbury, New Jersey) – Liberty League Field Hockey Honor Roll
DiGioacchino had a goal and two assists offensively on Tuesday to help lead Skidmore to an 8-1 non-league win over Castleton while also playing all 60 minutes in the back for the Thoroughbreds. Then, she put in another 60-minute effort leading the way defensively in Skidmore's 9-3 victory over St. Lawrence to open Liberty League play on Saturday.  
 
Abby Lewis (#20, Sr., F, East Greenwich, Rhode Island) – Liberty League Women's Soccer Honor Roll
Lewis scored her third goal of the season on Saturday in the 15^th minute to give the Thoroughbreds an early lead on the way to a 1-1 draw with St. Lawrence. She finished the 1-0-1 week for Skidmore with five shots across over 130 minutes on the pitch.
