TROY, N.Y. – After strong performances at the season-opening Duke Nelson Invitational, Skidmore College golf's Derek Thomas was selected as the Liberty League Performer of the Week, while Cooper Guerriere was named the league's Rookie of the Week for the week ending Sept. 13. Additionally, five other Skidmore student-athletes earned mention on the Honor Roll.
 
Lily Dreyfuss (field hockey), Bryn Ryan (women's soccer), Fletcher King and Mahen Bitkuri (men's tennis), and Catriona Hoelperl (volleyball) were each recognized on the Honor Roll.
 
Derek Thomas (So., South Glastonbury, Connecticut) – Liberty League Men's Golf Performer of the Week
Thomas put together a solid two rounds over the weekend at the Duke Nelson Invitational, where he finished in a tie for fourth to help lead the Thoroughbreds to a second-place finish. The sophomore shot a 73 in the opening round on Saturday before rounding out the tournament with a 75 on Sunday. Thomas led the field with seven birdies on the weekend.
 
Cooper Guerrierre (Fr., Shelburne, Vermont) – Liberty League Men's Golf Rookie of the Week
In his collegiate debut, Guerriere tied for eighth place at the Duke Nelson Invitational at Middlebury. After a 75 on Saturday, he put together a solid round of 74 on Sunday to secure the top-10 finish. Guerriere was one of six players in the tournament to play the par-3s under par, and his eight bogeys were tied for seventh-fewest among the 104 players in attendance.  
 
Lily Dreyfuss (#30, So., GK, Shaker Heights, Ohio) – Liberty League Field Hockey Honor Roll
On Sunday at Trinity, Dreyfuss made a career-high 16 saves for the Thoroughbreds playing in relief to push the game to overtime, where the Bantams ultimately won it 2-1 in the final minute of the second extra session. Nine of Dreyfuss's 16 stops came in overtime.
 
Bryn Ryan (#7, So., F, Arlington, Massachusetts) – Liberty League Women's Soccer Honor Roll
Ryan scored what turned out to be the winning goal in a 1-0 victory on Saturday for the Thoroughbreds over SUNY Oneonta. Her tuck in the 32^nd minute made it 1-0 and the result held for Skidmore's first win of the season. Ryan finished with a team high four shots.   
 
Fletcher King/Mahen Bitkuri – Liberty League Men's Tennis Honor Roll
King and Bitkuri won matches over teams from Bates and Hamilton to reach the final of the B Doubles draw at the weekend's season-opening Middlebury Invitational. They took down Hamilton's Salib/Dhull, 8-4, in the quarterfinals, before sneaking past Bates' Park/Kizer in a tiebreak to reach the title match. The duo was a tiebreaker away from claiming the crown over Bates' Marshall/Kirby, but settled for second place in the event.
 
Catriona Hoelperl (#14, Sr., S, Hilton, New York) – Liberty League Women's Volleyball Honor Roll
The Thoroughbreds' All-Tournament Team honoree from the weekend's Skidmore Classic dished out 178 assists (9.37 per set) across four matches last week in a 2-2 week which included five-set wins over Williams on the road and Roger Williams. She had 30 or more assists in all four matches including a career-high 51 in Saturday's match against Oswego. Hoelperl also finished the week with 12 service aces and 37 digs.
