VERONA, N.Y. – The Skidmore College golf team finished in a tie for fourth place at the Liberty League Championship, which wrapped Sunday at the Shenenadoah Course at Turning Stone. The Thoroughbreds shot a third-round 293, and finished tied with Rensselaer in fourth. Sophomores
Johnny Hwang and
Rudraksha Banerjee finished in a four-way tie for fourth.
- Banerjee had the second-best score of the day and the only bogey-free round. He shot a six-under 66 to finish the tournament at even par (74-76-66—216) and tie for fourth.
- Hwang (69-71-76—216) also tied for fourth. He had three birdies in the final round and 11 for the tournament.
- Patrick McLaughlin shot a 75 on Sunday to finish in a tie for 23rd with Jaden Cheng and one other. Cheng shot a 76 in the third round.
- Tate Esler was 30th (77-80-79—236).
- Rochester came storming back with one of the lowest rounds in championship history. The Yellowjackets erased an 11-shot deficit entering the day to beat NYU by six with and 857 overall score, including a 15-under 273 on Sunday.
- NYU's Oscar Urive and Rochester's Alvin Su shared medalist honors. Su had the highlight of the tournament when he holes our for an eagle-2 on the par-5 10th. He shot a 67 on Sunday.
