Skidmore ties for third, Banerjee second, at Tim Brown Invitational

BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. – The Skidmore College golf team had all four of its scoring players shoot 74 or better on Sunday to lead the team to a third-place finish at the Tim Brown Invitational at the Ballston Spa Country Club on Sunday. The team tied with Trinity
  • Skidmore (297-290—587) finished four better than Williams to hold onto T-3 representing its best finish in its spring home tournament since 2017.
  • Rudraksha Banerjee finished with birdies on No. 16 and No. 18 for another even-par 71 and a tie for second place.
  • Tate Esler birdied three holes from No. 8-11 on the way to a 1-over 72 and tie for 17th.
  • Johnny Hwang finished in a tie for 12th. He played a six-hole stretch (8-13) at 3-under and finished with a 74.
  • Patrick McLaughlin shot a 73, but played his first 13 holes of the day at 1-under par with just one bogey. He tied for 26th.
  • Jaden Cheng led Skidmore's fleet of four individuals with the day's low round of 3-under 68. He placed tied for fourth on the individual leaderboard.
  • NYU finished first by two over Amherst and three over Skidmore and Trinity.
  • Amherst's Andre Zhang claimed medalist honors by two strokes over Banerjee and Hamilton's Ramon Aroca Gonzalez.

Skidmore is back on Thursday at the world-famous Bethpage Black Course for the FSC Bethpage Black Invitational followed by the FSC Spring Invitational at the Red Course Saturday and Sunday.
