Dicturel named Liberty League Defensive Performer of the Week; five on Honor Roll

TROY, N.Y. – Junior defenseman Ethan Dicturel from the Skidmore College men's lacrosse team was selected as the Liberty League Defensive Performer of the Week for the week ending March 8. Additionally, five student-athletes from four teams earned recognition on the Liberty League Honor Roll.
 
Representing Skidmore was Chase Siegel (baseball), Caleb Lawson and Conor Geier (men's lacrosse), Julia Cafasso (women's lacrosse), and Nate' Burley (softball).
 
Ethan Dicturel (#41, Jr., D, Tenafly, New Jersey) - Liberty League Men's Lacrosse Defensive Performer of the Week
Dicturel had a game high six ground balls with two caused turnovers on Saturday as the Thoroughbreds knocked off nationally 14th-ranked Cortland on the road, 10-9. Dicturel and the Skidmore defense allowed only three second-half goals to the Red Dragons in the comeback win.  
 
Chase Siegel (#34, Jr., P, Westport, Connecticut) - Liberty League Baseball Honor Roll
Siegel pitched five one-hit, shutout innings on Sunday in game two against Baruch with eight strikeouts in Skidmore's 2-1 victory over the bearcats in Florida to complete the opening doubleheader sweep. The only hit he allowed was a second-inning single and he walked only one in his first start of the year.    
 
Caleb Lawson (#12, Sr., M, Medfield, Massachusetts) - Liberty League Men's Lacrosse Honor Roll
Lawson scored two goals, including the late game winner, to help lead Skidmore past nationally 14th-ranked Cortland 10-9, on Saturday afternoon on the road. His man-up goal with 1:50 left broke the tie and the Thoroughbreds eventually hung on for the big ranked road win.
 
Conor Geier (#24, Fr., M, Stratham, New Hampshire) – Liberty League Men's Lacrosse Honor Roll
Geier scored two goals and had an assist to help lead Skidmore past nationally 14th-ranked Cortland, 10-9, on the road on Saturday afternoon. He also picked up three ground balls and put all three of his shot attempts on frame in the win.
 
Julia Cafasso (#27, Sr., M, Manhasset, New York) – Liberty League Women's Lacrosse Honor Roll
Cafasso scored three goals with a pair of assists for five points to lead the Thoroughbreds past Roger Williams on the road on Saturday, 15-9. She also had three ground balls in the contest and a pair of caused turnovers. Over two games for the week she had 11 shots with five on target.
 
Naté Burley (#6, Sr., IF, Middletown, New York) – Liberty League Softball Honor Roll
Burley went 3-for-7 at the plate with a double, an RBI, and a run scored for the Thoroughbreds in their openers against Haverford and North Central. At shortstop, she handled all 12 of her chances cleanly with nine assists and three putouts across the two games including a turned double play.
