SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Skidmore's equestrian team won both shows in their doubleheader at home, securing their top finish in the Zone 2 Region 3 and qualifying for Zone Finals on April 4. Nine riders are qualified for Regional Finals, and the team added 12 wins to their Blue Ribbon Challenge.
The Open riders started the day, with
Avery Johnson '28 winner her section in Show 1 to qualify for Regionals, and
Lillard Preschlack '26 winning her class in Show 2 to qualify as well.
Lucy Beacher '29 brought in the next win in her Limit Fences, also earning Ride of the Day for Show 1. Alex Behmoiram '29 also won her Limit Fences, and earned Ride of the Day for Show 2.
The Open riders kept the blues coming on the flat, with Preschlack, Behmoiram, and
Isa Jensen '27 winning their Open Flats in Show 1, and Preschlack adding another Open Flat win in Show 2 to earn the High Point Rider Award for Show 2.
Ani McIntyre '27 won her Limit Flat in Show 1 to qualify for Regionals.
Isa Washburne '29 won her Novice Equitation, and the Introductory riders finished the day with
Sadie Applegate '27 and
Nila Rothman '27 each winning their classes. Skidmore horses performed at the peak as well, with Worthy winning Horse of the Show for Show 1 and Gigi winning Horse of the Show for Show 2.
The team travels to Findlay, Ohio to compete in the Tournament of Champions hosted by the University of Findlay on March 21. Individual qualifiers will compete at Regional Finals at home on March 28.
