MALVERN, Pa. – The Skidmore College men's golf team trimmed 10 shots off its team score from round one to two, and then shot the tournament's second-best third round on Monday to finish fifth at the Swarthmore Invitational.
- Skidmore (311-301-291—903) shot a 291 as a team in the third round behind only team champion Dickinson.
- The Thoroughbreds got off to a solid, steady start to the day in the first round. All six of Skidmore's players finished within two shots of each other (74-76).
- Then, in round three, Rudraksha Banerjee was one of nine players to shoot par or better with a 71. He had a team-best five birdies and played the back nine at 1-under par. He was 17th.
- Tate Esler finished 12th. Following a 76 in the middle round, he shot a 1-over 72 in round three that featured 13 pars and a pair of birdies.
- Patrick McLaughlin and Johnny Hwang both shot 74s in the final round. McLaughlin placed 24th, and Hwang was 29th.
- Derek Thomas took off eight strokes from his opening round for a 75 in round two followed up by a 75 in the final round. He was 47th.
- Jaden Cheng, Skidmore's individual entry, was 45th (81-74-79—234).
