SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College riding team delivered a strong performance at Regionals, with multiple top finishes across classes and several riders qualifying for Zones.
The Open riders set the tone early, with Lillard Preschlack '26 earning Champion, Isa Jensen '27 taking Reserve Champion, and Avery Johnson '28 earning 5th in Open Fences. Jensen continued her standout day on the flat, winning Champion in Open Flat, while Preschlack added another blue ribbon as Champion in Intermediate Flat. In the Limit classes, Ellie Hoyt '26 secured Reserve Champion in Limit Fences and placed 3rd in Limit Flat, with Ani McIntyre '27 also contributing a 5th place finish in the flat.
The team maintained momentum in Novice, where Stella Allen '27 won Champion in Novice Flat. Jordan Townsend '26 and Franny Gallagher '26 added valuable rides with 6th and 11th place finishes, respectively. Catherine Epstein '26 rounded out the day earning herself Champion in Introductory Equitation.
In the highly competitive Cacchione Cup competition throughout the season, Isa Jensen '27 earned Reserve Champion, while Lillard Preschlack '26 placed 8th. The Skidmore Equestrian team also received their Regional Champion Team trophy for winning the Zone 2 Region 3 Champion title.
The team looks ahead to Zones in Rochester, NY next weekend as they continue their successful postseason run. All individual riders who placed 1st or 2nd at Regionals will have the opportunity to ride again at Zones, joined by our team riders.
