SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College softball team picked up a split on Friday at home against Potsdam behind a 10-run outburst in game one for a run-rule win. The Bears claimed the nightcap 13-7.

Game 1 – Skidmore 10, Potsdam 1 (6 inn.)
- Natalie Mayne launched a game-ending, three-run home run in the bottom of the fifth inning to cap a five-run frame for the Thoroughbreds to win the game early via the run rule.
- Mayne finished 2-for-2 with a double, the homer, and three driven in. She walked and scored twice and had a stolen base.
- Delaney Swain and Lulu Mickle also had extra-base hits – both doubles. Swain reached and scored
- The Thoroughbreds stole seven bases. Elle Harrison had two.
- Mallory Allen improved to 4-1 in the circle for Skidmore with a complete-game effort. She scattered six hits but did not issue any free passes and struck out two.
- The Thoroughbreds built a 4-0 lead behind two runs in each the second and third.
- Rachel Monser drove in both to open the scoring on a pull-side single after two walks and a wild pitch put runners in scoring position.
- Swain doubled in another leadoff walk in the home half of the third and scored after two more wild pitches.
- The visitors plated their lone run on a Payton St. Clair solo home run to lead off the fourth.
- Lulu Mickle then walked and later scored on a wild pitch to make it 5-1.
- Skidmore walked seven times and were the beneficiary of six wild pitches.
- The Thoroughbreds registered four of their eight hits in the fateful bottom of the sixth as five of the six players who went to bat reached safely.

Game 2 – Potsdam 13, Skidmore 7
- The Bears came alive with three in each of the first two innings before breaking it open with a five-run top of the fifth. Potsdam scored in every inning except the third and sixth.
- Skidmore countered with a two-spot in the first and another in the second to cut the deficit to three. Then, after a single Potsdam run in the third, Swain and Mayne hit back-to-back doubles to pull to within two.
- Mayne added two more hits, both doubles, to finish the day with four knocks. She also pitched the final three innings in relief allowing only one run on three hits.
- Mickle went 3-for-4 with a pair of runs driven in.
- Alexys Rosick went 3-for-4 for Potsdam including a two-run homer in the second and a two-RBI single in the fifth.
- St. Clair was 4-for-4 with three RBI.
