Gadbois, Killcommons earn Liberty League awards; three Thoroughbreds on Honor Roll

TROY, N.Y. – Sophomore Marc Gadbois and first-year Joseph Killcommons picked up Liberty League Men's Lacrosse weekly awards for the week ending March 1. Gadbois was selected as the Defensive Performer of the Week, while Killcommons was named the Rookie of the Week. Additionally, Julia Cafasso and Tatum Walsh (women's lacrosse), as well as Fletcher King (men's tennis) were recognized on the Honor Roll.
 
Marc Gadbois (#20, So., G, Southborough, Massachusetts) – Liberty League Men's Lacrosse Defensive Performer of the Week
Gadbois posted his second straight double-digit save effort on Saturday to help lead Skidmore to a 10-5 win over Coast Guard. The sophomore finished with 11 saves for a .688 save percentage for the afternoon with a caused turnover and a pair of ground balls.
 
Joseph Killcommons (#14, Fr., A, Garden City, New York) – Liberty League Men's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week
Killcommons scored five goals on Saturday afternoon, including the game winner, to lead Skidmore past Coast Guard for its third consecutive win to start the season. He scored on five out of his six shots on goal with a ground ball in the winning effort.
 
Julia Cafasso (M, Manhasset, New York) – Liberty League Women's Lacrosse Honor Roll
Cafasso totaled six goals and an assist for seven points across a pair of Skidmore wins over Springfield and New Paltz. She scored three on Thursday in the Thoroughbred overtime win at Springfield with an assist one ground ball before scoring three more times in addition to two ground balls and a caused turnover in the 13-7 road victory over the Hawks.
 
Tatum Walsh (#59, So., G, Mt. Kisco, New York) – Liberty League Women's Lacrosse Honor Roll
In a 2-0 week for Skidmore, Walsh registered 17 total saves including 12 on Thursday in an 11-10 overtime victory at Springfield, where the kept the game alive with a few key stops late in regulation and in overtime. She stopped five more on Saturday at New Paltz in Skidmore's 13-7 win to finish the week, and improve to 3-0 overall, with a .500 save percentage.
 
Fletcher King (Jr., New York, New York) – Liberty League Men's Tennis Honor Roll
On Saturday against No. 28 Hamilton, King won Skidmore a pair of points including the clinching match in singles to complete the comeback from down 3-1. His 6-4, 6-4 win at third singles clinched the 4-3 victory over the Continentals. He also won in doubles, 6-4, with partner Nika Mori.
