Box Score SAN ANTONIO, TX – The No. 40 Skidmore College women's tennis team concluded spring break action with a 6-1 loss to No. 12 Trinity (TX) on Friday morning. The Thoroughbreds (1-6) earned their lone point at first singles on a third-set tiebreak, but it proved not enough as the Tigers (7-1) pulled away for the win.
DOUBLES MATCHES
- In first doubles, the first-year duo of Amelie Gonzalez/Ginevra Muratori battled throughout the match, staying within striking distance before ultimately falling to Trinity's Rosabella Andrade and Trinity Levy, 6-4.
- In second doubles, the Skidmore pairing of Mia Rosenberg/Ruth Wilson took a pair of games before falling 6-2 to Trinity's Katie Schmidt/Lauren Tin.
SINGLES MATCHES
- In first singles, first year Ginevra Muratori battled through a thrilling three-set match, capturing the opening set in a tight tiebreak, 7-6 (6), before falling in the second set, 6-4, and outlasting Trinity's Eva Kovachev in a thrilling third-set match tiebreak, 10-8.
- In second singles, freshman Amelie Gonzalez dropped a straight-set decision to Trinity's Rosabella Andrade, 6-4, 6-2.
