Big Green Scream, Senior Day to highlight final home basketball weekend

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College basketball teams will play their final two home games of the regular season this weekend at the Williamson Sports Center. The Thoroughbreds host Clarkson University on Friday (women 5:30, men 7:30). Then, Skidmore hosts St. Lawrence University on Saturday (women 2, men 4) for the return of the Big Green Scream as well as Senior Day for both teams.

The first 200 fans at each game on Saturday will receive a free t-shirt commemorating the Big Green Scream. There will also be in-game contests and prizes, including a grand prize gift card to the Skidmore Shop. The event will feature the return of Recycle Mania.

General admission is free of charge for all fans and students.

WOMEN
The Thoroughbreds are 9-12 on the season and 7-7 in the Liberty League, and can clinch a postseason spot this weekend. Head coach David Bostick and the Thoroughbreds are in sixth place with four conference games remaining.

Skidmore can clinch a postseason berth with a win over Clarkson. The Golden Knights are 5-9 and two games back. Skidmore defeated the Golden Knights 77-48 last month in Potsdam. St. Lawrence is one of two teams tied for fourth at 9-5 in the Liberty League.

The Thoroughbreds will complete the regular season next weekend on the road at Ithaca and RIT. The First Round of the Liberty League Tournament is on Tuesday, Feb. 24.

MEN
Joe Burke's squad is attacking each game in search of a return to the postseason. The Thoroughbreds enter the weekend 10-11 overall and 6-8 in the conference. Tied with Clarkson, Friday night's game will determine which team will be in the sixth position with three games left. St. Lawrence is ahead at 9-5 with a two-game margin in fourth place.

A sweep this weekend would put Skidmore in a strong position to control its own destiny next weekend for a playoff spot.

The Thoroughbreds also close the regular season next weekend at Ithaca and RIT.
