COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – The Skidmore College field hockey team was honored with the 2025 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III National Academic Team Award, as revealed by the organization on Tuesday.
Among 78 Division III teams to qualify, this prestigious award is granted to programs that have achieved an exceptional team grade-point average of 3.50 or higher during the fall semester of the current 2025-26 academic year.
As a program, the Thoroughbreds posted a team GPA of 3.535 to hit the qualifying mark.
Middlebury College turned in the highest GPA in all of Division III, securing the top spot with an overall 3.90. Close behind, Swarthmore College landed in second place with a collective team GPA of 3.86. Shenandoah claimed the third team spot with a 3.84. Liberty League rival Ithaca landed fourth with a 3.82.
Next up will be one final prestigious Division III academic award yet to be unveiled, with the announcement of the National Scholar-Athlete on February 19.
