TROY, N.Y. – Senior guard Madison Meyer from the Skidmore College women's basketball team was selected as the Liberty League Performer of the Week for the week ending Jan. 18. Additionally, men's basketball's Jacob Gooden was named the Rookie of the Week for the fourth time, and classmate Will Wertz was recognized on the Honor Roll.
 
Madison Meyer (#10, Sr., G, Delanson, New York) – Liberty League Women's Basketball Performer of the Week
Meyer averaged 19.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.5 steals, and 4.0 assists over the weekend for the Thoroughbreds in a split in the North Country. She had 18 points with five assists and five rebounds on Friday at St. Lawrence before scoring a career-high 21 on Saturday with eight steals in Skidmore's big Saturday win at Clarkson.
 
Jacob Gooden (#15, Fr., G, Edmond, Oklahoma) – Liberty League Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week
Gooden scored 26.5 points per game for the Thoroughbreds over a weekend split in the North Country. He led the charge with 32 – a season best – in the effort on Friday at St. Lawrence before adding 21 more to help lead Skidmore past Clarkson on Saturday. Gooden shot 50 percent (22-of-44) from the field and totaled 10 rebounds, four assists, and a pair of steals.
 
Will Wertz (#20, Fr., G, Ipswich, Massachusetts) – Liberty League Men's Basketball Honor Roll
Wertz averaged 13.5 points with 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals over the weekend for Skidmore at St. Lawrence and Clarkson in a road split. He scored 21 on Saturday against Clarkson in the Thoroughbred win with seven boards and a pair of steals while playing 35 minutes without committing a turnover.
