Skidmore tied for ninth at midway point of Duke Nelson Invitational

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Skidmore College golf team is tied for ninth out of 20 teams following the first of two rounds at the Duke Nelson Invitational at Middlebury.
  • Skidmore is tied with Farmingdale State following an opening-round team score of 307. The Thoroughbreds are just four shots out of third-place Trinity.
  • Babson (296) leads Amherst by one shot on the team leaderboard.
  • Sophomore Patrick McLaughlin is tied for 16th after shooting a 4-over 75. He had three birdies, including a two on the par-3 14th.
  • Rudraksha Banerjee shot a 76 with birdies on No. 10, his first hole, and No. 5. He is tied for 21st.
  • Jaden Cheng and Johnny Hwang shot matching 78s in a tie for 46th.
  • Babson's Jack Berry (68) leads the player leaderboard by two.

The tournament concludes on Sunday at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
