PREVIEW: Skidmore Women's Soccer

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College women's soccer team will kick off its 2025 season on Friday at Wachenheim Field at 3 p.m. when it plays host to SUNY Brockport. The Thoroughbreds returned to the NCAA Tournament in 2024 for the first time since 2013 and are aiming to make back-to-back appearances. The Thoroughbreds and Golden Eagles played to a scoreless tie at the start of the 2024 season.

The 2024 campaign concluded in the NCAA First Round after a thrilling back-and-forth battle with Case Western Reserve. Skidmore finished 11-4-3 after going unbeaten over the first nine contests. Skidmore was 5-2-2 in league play and defeated RIT, 1-0, in the first round of the Liberty League Tournament at home.

THE SCHEDULE AHEAD
Just two of Skidmore's first six non-league games will be played at home. After a weekend in Oneonta, Skidmore hosts Plattsburgh State on Wednesday, Sept. 10 as part of a doubleheader. Liberty League play is set to begin on Wednesday, Sept. 24 when the Thoroughbreds host Clarkson.

Other league home contests include Ithaca (10/4), William Smith (10/11), Union (10/22), and Vassar (10/25). The Liberty League Tournament will start on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
