NORMAN, Okla. – The Skidmore College men's golf team duo of
Tate Esler and
Evan Forrest were selected as 2024-25 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars for Division III, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on Tuesday afternoon.
With Esler earning his first selection and Forrest repeating for the honor, the Thoroughbreds pairing were part of 202 NCAA Division III athletes from 78 schools to earn the All-America Scholar honors. Fellow Liberty League honorees saw three athletes from RPI also being selected.
Leading programs saw Rhodes with six recipients, tied alongside College of Charleston, Georgia Southern, Hawai'i, Mississippi State (NCAA Division I), and Texas Wesleyan (NAIA) for the most recipients from one school across all six divisions in 2024-25. Emory (5), Illinois Wesleyan (5), Rhodes (6), and Southwestern (TX) (5) were NCAA Division III schools that had at least five recipients.
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their associate's degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 79.0 in NCAA Division III, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
