SWARTHMORE, Pa. — Skidmore College head swimming and diving coach Jill Greenleaf has been named to the Swarthmore College Athletics Hall of Fame as part of the Garnet Class of 2025.
 
Greenleaf (née: Belding), who has served as Skidmore's head coach since 2002, is a four‑time All‑American swimmer and former conference champion and college record holder at Swarthmore. As a Garnet from 1995-1999, she overcame thoracic outlet syndrome after her freshman year and still earned All‑America First‑Team recognition in the 200 butterfly in her freshman and sophomore seasons, alongside relay honors in the 400 and 800 freestyle. After an injury took away her junior season, she came back to record a pair of top-eight swims in the Centennial Championships of her senior year, all while serving as a two-year team captain.
 
She was honored with the May E. Perry Award in 1999 and was later named to the Centennial Conference Silver Anniversary Team.
 
At Skidmore, Greenleaf has brought stability and enthusiasm to both the men's and women's programs. Under her leadership since 2002, Skidmore student‑athletes have set more than 160 program records, with eight individual Liberty League champions, and continuously improving team standings. The women finished fourth in February's Liberty League Championships, while the men were fifth.
 
"I'm humbled and overwhelmed to be recognized by Swarthmore Athletics for my accomplishments in the pool as a student‑athlete, but know that so many contributed to my success," Greenleaf said. "I'm excited to return to Swarthmore this fall to celebrate this honor with many of my coaches, teammates, friends, and of course, my family."
 
Greenleaf began her collegiate coaching career after serving as an assistant coach at Eastern Connecticut State University (1999–2000) and Smith College (2000–2002) before joining Skidmore.
 
The 2025 Swarthmore Athletics Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place later this year during the college's Garnet Weekend celebration.
