SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. –
Ryan Capozucca from the Skidmore College men's rowing team was selected to the Intercollegiate Rowing Coaches Association (IRCA) All-America Second Team.

In order to be named an "All-American", rowers and coxswains must meet all eligibility rules defined by their institution, have raced in their team's varsity boast for the current spring racing season, been nomination by their institution, and the head coach must be in good standing with the IRCA.

Nominated student-athletes are selected by the IRCA Board of Directors to one of the two teams, or Honorable Mention, based on the following criteria: strength of finish of the institutions varsity boat, nomination rank within institution, coach's comments, individual achievements, and erg score.

There were 104 rowers and coxswains who met the criteria to be named a First Team, Second Team, or Honorable Mention All-American, representing 43 teams (37 heavyweight and six lightweight).

Capozucca is one of two honorees from the Liberty League, joining Ithaca's Bryce Williston.

The Skidmore men's varsity 8+ finished second at last month's Liberty League Championships.
