Skidmore fourth after opening round at Liberty League Championship

VERONA, N.Y. — The Skidmore College golf team sits in fourth place after the first round of the Liberty League Championship, hosted by Hobart at Turning Stone Resort.
  • Skidmore posted a team score of 294 (+6).
  • Rochester leads after the first round at 282 (-6), with Rensselaer and New York University tied for second at 291 (+3).
  • Rudraksha Banerjee paced the Thoroughbreds with a 71 (-1), finishing the day tied for fourth individually. Banerjee birdied three out of his last four holes.
  • Evan Forrest carded a 73 (+1) and is tied for ninth. His round consisted of 13 pars and three birdies.
  • Johnny Hwang shot a 74 (+2) to sit in a tie for 12th. Hwang had pars on 15 holes.
  • Tate Esler recorded a 76 (+4), tied for 21st. He holed out for an eagle-2 on the par-4 seventh.
  • Patrick McLaughlin finished with a 77 (+5), tied for 26th.

  • The 54-hole championship continues Saturday and concludes Sunday. Tee times on Saturday are again at noon, with Skidmore going off in the second wave (12:50-1:30).
