Skidmore ties for eighth at Tim Brown Invitational

BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. – The Skidmore College golf team finished in a tie for eighth place in the 20-team Dr. Tim Brown Invitational held at the Ballston Spa Country Club over the weekend.
  • The Thoroughbreds shot a day-two score of 295 to finish with a 588 overall and tie for eighth with Husson.
  • Amherst went 280 or better in both rounds to win by 11 over second-place Rensselaer.
  • First-year Johnny Hwang had Skidmore's best round of the day. He shot a 2-under 69 on Sunday with seven birdies to finish tied for 24th. Hwang played his first 13 holes at 6-under and birdied four consecutive holes (No. 10-13) after making the turn.
  • Patrick McLaughlin was Skidmore's top overall finisher in a tie for 20th. He shot a 74 on Sunday with birdies on No. 9 and No. 13.
  • Another first-year, Rudraksha Banerjee, also shot a 74 with two birdies to tie for 55th.
  • Tate Esler tied for 64th with a two-day score of 153.
  • Evan Forrest had three birdies on the front nine and finished tied for 76th.
  • NYU's Jomyuth Luangtana-Anan rallied to shot a 6-under 65 to finish at minus-9 overall and win medalist honors by two strokes.
INDIVIDUALS
  • Campbell Jenkins was in a tie for 51st after recording his second 75 in a row.
  • Eric Carter carded an eagle-3 on the eighth hole on the way to his 76 and tie for 88th.
