Reed, Sodi runner-up finishes highlight final day of Liberty League Championships for Thoroughbreds

ITHACA, NY – The Skidmore College swimming and diving teams closed out the 2025 Liberty League Championships with a strong final day of swims, with a runner-up finisher on both ends in addition to breaking seven total program records through the day on Championship Saturday.

The Thoroughbreds saw a stellar silver finish in the 200 back on the men's side, as well as a runner-up placement in the women's 1650 free. The men also reset the record books in the 200 back, 200 breast and 400 free relay, while the women broke school records in the 1000 free, 1650 free, 100 free and 400 free relay. In total, both teams placed six individual and two relay podium finishers on the final day.

The men's team finished the meet in fifth place after scoring 850 points, while the women finished fourth with 857 points. RIT came out on top on the men's side with 1688 points, and Ithaca won on the women's with 1700 points.

CHAMPIONSHIP MEET OVERVIEW
  • Through a competitive four-day meet weekend, the Thoroughbreds were highlighted by one individual conference champion in the men's 400 IM, and a quartet of runner-up finishers in the men's 500 free, men's 800 free relay, women's 1650 free and men's 200 back.
  • In total, the program saw 30 total podium finishers, while breaking an impressive 19 program records in the process.
MEN'S POINTS SCORERS
  • The Thoroughbreds saw a pair of podium finishers in the 200 back A-Final. Senior Nicolas Sodi claimed the runner-up spot with a brilliant swim of 1:49.81 to shatter the previous record of 1:52.75 set by himself in 2023 and narrowly missing out on the NCAA B-Cut time of 1:49.01. During the morning prelims, the senior initially set a new program record time of 1:50.36.
  • Also finishing on the podium in the 200 back A-Final, senior Ryan Delfico rounded out in eighth place with his time of 1:55.04.
  • In the 200 breast A-Final, senior Liam Keating touched in a time of 2:06.33 to place sixth overall, and scoring 24 points. During the morning prelims, the senior reset his program record with a stellar time of 2:05.85, breaking the previous time of 2:06.53 set by himself in 2024.
  • In the 400 free relay A-Final, the Thoroughbreds quartet of Delfico, Jonah Vaynshtok, Gavin Schiavi and Sodi broke the program record with a stellar time of 3:06.32 to finish third overall. The previous record sat at 3:08.18 and set in 2024.
  • In the 1650 free, freshman Lachlan Hartshorn placed 13th with his time of 17:20.88 to score 14 points.
  • In the 100 free B-Final, Vaynshtok took 12th place after clocking a time of 47.34 to score 15 points. Also in the B-Final, junior Brendan Lu placed 15th with his time of 48.01 to score 12 points.
  • Also scoring in the 100 free C-Final, Schiavi rounded out in 18th with his time of 47.98 to score seven points. Also in the C-Final, sophomore Owen Magoon finished 22nd with his time of 49.13 to score three points.
  • Also scoring in the 200 back B-Final, freshman Allen Huseinovic placed 12th overall with a time of 1:56.41 and scoring 15 points. In the C-Final, senior Keegan Scharoun finished 17th overall with a time of 1:57.38 to score nine points.
  • Also scoring in the 200 breast B-Final, sophomore Aidan Darling placed 16th with a time of 2:10.81 and scoring 11 points. In the C-Final, senior Will Quinn finished 18th with a time of 2:11.66 to score seven points.
  • Also scoring in the 400 free relay C-Final, the relay team of Thomas Gaughan, Huseinovic, Lu and Magoon placed 20th with a time of 3:13.28 and scoring 10 points.
WOMEN'S POINTS SCORERS
  • In the 1650 free, sophomore Sabrina Reed finished with a time of 17:50.46 to place second while creating a new program record in the process after shattering the previous time of 17:55.47 set by herself in 2024. The sophomore's 1000 split time of 10:47.50 also broke the program record time of 10:51.91 set by April Cook in 2024.
  • Sophomore Kelly Hsu had a pair of stellar swims in the 100 free. During the evening A-Final, Hsu demolished the program record with her time of 52.22 to place fourth, breaking the previous record of 52.76 set by herself in 2024. During the morning prelims, the sophomore set an initial new program record of 52.65.
  • In the 200 back A-Final, junior Ginny Hunt saw a top-five finish after touching in a stellar time of 2:09.53 to finish fifth overall and scoring 25 points.
  • In the 400 free relay A-Final, the Skidmore quartet of Faye Mooney, Gretchen Gwitt, Emily Booth and Hsu set a new program record time of 3:37.38 to place fifth, and breaking the previous record of 3:37.43 set in 2024.
  • Also scoring in the 1650 free, sophomore MK Booth placed 16th with a time of 18:30.45 to score 11 points.
  • Also scoring in the 100 free B-Final, Mooney placed 14th overall after clocking in at a time of 54.77 to score 13 points. In the C-Final, E. Booth finished 21st overall with her time of 55.92 to score four points.
  • Also scoring in the 200 back B-Final, sophomore Jae Mason touched in 2:09.82 to place ninth overall and scoring 20 points. The sophomore's swim was faster than three competitors in the A-Final.
  • In the 200 back C-Final, sophomore Sarah Miller placed 20th with her time of 2:18.26 to score five points. Right behind her was senior Chloe Kim in 21st with a time of 2:18.54 to score four points. Rounding out the C-Final trio, freshman Julianna Kuznar placed 22nd with her time of 2:19.05 to score three points.
  • In the 200 breast B-Final, sophomore Katherine Manaresi finished 13th with her time of 2:32.67 to score 14 points. In the C-Final, freshman Mariama Dabo placed 21st with a time of 2:41.28 to score four points.
  • In the 3-meter dive, freshman Lila Tulimieri placed 18th with a score of 271.75 to add on seven points.
  • Also scoring in the 400 free relay C-Final, the relay team of Mason, Kim, Hunt and Reed placed 20th with a time of 3:45.73 to score 10 points.
