SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY – On senior day, the Skidmore College swimming and diving teams closed out the regular season with a successful hosting of the Skidmore Sprint Invite at the Williamson Sports Center on Saturday afternoon.
The Thoroughbreds men's team took first place out of five competing teams with a top score of 575.5, while the women also came out on top of six teams with a 550 final score. Additionally, the men broke a pair of meet records in both the 50 breast as well as the 200 free relay.
Prior to the meet action, the Thoroughbreds honored the 11-member senior class of

MEN'S EVENT WINNERS
- In the 200-medley relay, the Thoroughbreds quartet of Sodi, Keating, freshman Allen Huseinovic and Schiavi took the victory by seven-tenths of a second with the top time of 1:38.62.
- Sodi won the 100 back after touching first at 54.10 seconds. The senior also won the 200 free with a time of 1:47.40.
- Sophomore Owen Magoon set a new meet record in the 50 breast with his time time of 27.76.
- In the 400 IM, Delfico finished atop the field with his time of 4:20.91. The senior also won the 100 IM after clocking in at 54.68.
- On the boards in the 1-meter dive, sophomore Josh Amembal scored the most points at 233.55.
- Rounding out the meet in the 200 free relay, the Skidmore relay team of Magoon, Jonah Vaynshtok, Schiavi and Delfico set a brand-new meet record time of 1:29.28.
WOMEN'S EVENT WINNERS
- In the 200-medley relay, the Thoroughbreds came out on top with a time of 1:53.45 off the efforts of Ginny Hunt, Faye Mooney, Gretchen Gwitt and Kelly Hsu.
- The 100 back was won by Gwitt, who touched first with a time of 1:01.54 after cruising past second place by nearly two seconds. The junior also won the 50 fly with the top time of 27.21.
- In the 50 breast, Mooney out touched second place by two-tenths of a second to win with her time of 32.37.
- Winners of two individual events, Hsu first won the 100 fly with her time of 1:00.55. The sophomore followed with the top swim in the 100 IM at 1:02.50.
- In the 50 back, Hunt came out on top with her time of 29.54.
