Kelly Hsu, Faye Mooney, Emelia Lan and Gretchen Gwitt set a new program record in the 200 Free Relay
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Skidmore College men's and women's swimming and diving teams opened the 2025 Don Richards Invitational by setting a program record in the 200 free relay and finishing day one with both programs sitting inside the top three in the team standings on Friday afternoon.

Emelia Lan set a new program record with the top time of 1:37.24, which shaved off nearly a full second from the previous record time of 1:38.10 set last season.
The women's team ended the evening with 271 points, placing them first place out of seven competing teams. On the men's side, the Thoroughbreds scored 176 points to place third and just behind second-place Clarkson at 197 points.
MEN'S NOTABLE FINISHERS
- In the 200 free relay, the Thoroughbreds quartet of sophomore Thomas Gaughan, junior Jonah Vaynshtok, junior Owen Magoon and senior Brendan Lu earned a runner up finish of 1:26.36.
- Sophomore Allen Huseinovic placed fifth in the 500 free with a time of 4:49.43.
- In the 50 free, Lu sprinted to a fourth-place time of 21.66.
- Skidmore swam a third-place time of 3:36.27 in the 400-medley relay led by the quartet of Huseinovic, Magoon, Lu and Gaughan.
WOMEN'S NOTABLE FINISHERS
- Junior Jae Mason cruised to a victory in the 500 free after clocking in at a time of 5:13.69.
- In the 200 IM, Hsu outpaced the field with the fastest time of 2:09.71 to take the win. Finishing fifth, Lan touched in at a time of 2:16.25.
- Gwitt took the runner up finish in the 50 free after touching in second at a time of 24.64. Right behind her was Mooney in third at 25.08 and junior Emily Booth in fourth at 25.47.
- In the 400-medley relay, the quartet of senior Ginny Hunt, Mooney, Gwitt, Lan took second place with a time of 3:58.20.

The Thoroughbreds will wrap up competition at the Don Richards Invitational on Saturday, with morning session set for 9 AM and afternoon session starting at 2 PM.
