SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College riding team successfully hosted the first double header horse show, running two shows concurrently. The team won both shows and added 12 blues to the Blue Ribbon Challenge.
The first show started with solid rides from the Open riders, with
Isa Jensen '27 winning her section, and
Avery Johnson '28 and
Lillard Preschlack '26 finishing second.
Maya Katcher '28 took first place in the Intermediate Fences in both the first and second shows.
Alexandra Behmoiram '29 won her Limit Fences in the second show, bringing the blue-ribbon count to four before the break.
The flat classes started with Jensen returned to win her Open Flat in the first show, earning her the High Point Rider title for the first show and also earning Ride of the Day for show 1 picked by the judge.
Preshlack won her Intermediate Flat classes in both the first and second shows.
Stella Allen '27 won her Novice Equitation in the first show, and
Hayden Bouza '27 won her Novice Equitation in the second show.
Bevin Dean '26 showed for the first time in the Pre-Novice Equitation, winning her classes in both the first and second shows.
Jordan Townsend '26 was second in her Novice Equitation to qualify for Regional Finals in March.
Catherine Epstein '26 finished the day with a win in her Introductory Equitation for the second show.
Equine stars Worthy (in his first IHSA competition) and Zurich were awarded the Horse of the Show for their performances across the levels.
The team finishes their regular semester competition November 22
nd at home.
