Skidmore finishes season with 2-1 loss to Cortland

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College field hockey team dropped a 2-1 final to visiting SUNY Cortland on Saturday afternoon to wrap the 2025 season.
  • Skidmore finishes the year 9-10, while Cortland improves to 7-10.
  • Scoreless through three quarters, the Red Dragons struck twice in the fourth to take a 2-0 lead.
  • Colby Paul accounted for the Skidmore goal on a penalty stroke in the final minute.
  • Tori Petersen scored both of the goals for Cortland in the 48th and 53rd minutes. Adrienne Mayes and Anna McCarthy assisted.
  • Shots finished tied nine apiece, though Skidmore finished with a 6-4 advantage in shots on goal.
  • Nicole Sylvestri made a save in just over 52 minutes of action, while Allison Morgan had one save in 7:27 of relief in goal for the Thoroughbreds.
  • Emma Morgan stopped five for the visitors.
  • Skidmore ended with a small edge, 5-4, in penalty corners.
  • At the game's conclusion, Skidmore honored its seniors in a special celebration: Mia Angwin, Abby Ezickson, Anna D'Amore, Brynn Charon, Brooke Golden.
