COBLESKILL, N.Y. – The Skidmore College riding team started its season away at SUNY Cobleskill, finishing second with 32 points. Host college Cobleskill was champion with 46 points. This outing was the competition debut for several Thoroughbreds, as well as the first show hosted by Cobleskill ever. The team also earned four blue ribbons for the team's Blue Ribbon Challenge fundraiser.

The show started with Open Equitation over Fences, with three Skidmore riders competing. Isa Jensen '27 won section A in her IHSA Open Fences debut, and Lillard Preschlack '26 won section B. Avery Johnson '28 rode to sixth place in Open Fences. Carolyn Albright '27 represented the Thoroughbreds in the Intermediate Equitation over Fences, finishing 6^th. Ellie Hoyt '26 and Laura Hess '27 rode to fifth and sixth places in the Limit Equitation over Fences.
In the second half of the day, Jensen returned to take third in the Open Equitation over Fences. Johnson won her section of Intermediate Equitation on the Flat, and Preschlack finished second in hers. Ani McIntyre '27 won her section of Limit Equitation on the Flat. Hoyt returned to earn another fifth place ribbon in Limit Flat, and Stella Brown '26 also rode to fifth place in her section of Limit Flat.

Three riders made their IHSA debut to finish the day: Hayden Bouza '27 took fourth place in her first Novice Equitation, Frances Gallagher '26 won her Pre-Novice Equitation, and Catherine Epstein '26 was second in her Introductory Equitation.

The team next competes at Dutch Manor Stable hosted by Siena College on Saturday, Nov. 1.
