SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The nine-time IHSA National Champion Skidmore College riding team is set to begin it all again this weekend. The Thoroughbreds will open the 2025-26 season on Saturday nearby at Cobleskill.

Skidmore, the most successful program in terms of wins in the IHSA with nine titles, finished fifth at last season's IHSA Nationals in North Carolina. Skidmore is three years removed from head coachÂ
Belinda Colgan's first national title as a head coach following a long and successful tenure as the program's assistant.

Skidmore has won national titles in 1990, 1991, 1995, 1996, 1999, 2010, 2013, 2018, and 2023.

THE SCHEDULE AHEAD
After opening at Cobleskill, Skidmore will head to Siena's home show in Guilderland on Saturday, Nov. 1. Then, Skidmore will host back-to-back shows on Nov. 15 for a doubleheader and again on Nov. 22. The full spring schedule will be posted when it is available. The regular season builds up to March 28 for Regionals at home at the Van Lennep Riding Center followed by Zones April 4 in Rochester and Nationals back in Tryon, North Carolina at the end of the month.

There are 19 returners from the 2024-25 roster. Of them, several contributed in last season's fifth-place national showing including
Isa Jensen,
Bevin Dean (event champion),
Nila Rothman, and
Stella Allen.
