SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College golf team shot a third-round 286 on Sunday to finish third out of 17 teams at the Skidmore Fall Invitational at the Saratoga Spa State Park Course.
- The Thoroughbreds (296-292-286—874) finished behind only Amherst (296-282-286—864) and Trinity (295-287-287—869) and were 10 strokes ahead of fourth-place NYU.
- Jaden Cheng and Rudraksha Banerjee both shot 2-under 70s on Sunday. Cheng's brought him under par for the tournament (74-71-70—215) to finish tied for third. The first-year birdied 10, 11, 14 and recorded par on 14 out of the other 15 holes for the 70.
- Banerjee (76-76-70—222) tied for 26th. His third rounded featured five birdies.
- Patrick McLaughlin brushed off a slow start by playing a 1-under back nine to finish with a 75 and preserve a top-10 finish. He tied for seventh (70-71-75—216).
- Johnny Hwang had the highlight of the day: a hole-out for eagle on the 403-yard par-4 fourth, which was his opening hole. Hwang shot a 73 and tied for 36th (76-77-73—226).
- Derek Thomas also tied for 36th (79-74-73—226) with a Sunday 73.
- Individual Campbell Jenkins joined Hwang and Thomas in 36th. Jenkins finished the third round with a 74.
- Chris Berry notched 13 pars in his round three for a 76 and tie for 57th.
- As a team, Skidmore was second with 42 birdies for the tournament and fourth with 166 pars.
