Box Score TRINITY, Texas – The Skidmore College women's tennis completed its spring break trip to Texas with a 9-0 loss to host Trinity University.
  • Skidmore returns home 3-3 overall.
  • The nationally 16th-ranked Trinity squad is 8-1.
  • Skidmore made each of the three doubles matches close, particularly at first and third. Ella Provost and Grace Truong lost an 8-5 match at first doubles against Hill/Kim.
  • Katherine Almquist and Beilynn Geiss also claimed five games at third doubles against Andrade/Hughes to send the Tigers up 3-0 into singles.
  • Provost won four games in each set at third singles against Levy.
  • Truong won the first set against Hughes at #2 singles, but was forced to retire in a tight second set where she was leading 4-3.
  • From head coach Curt Speerschneider: "Not the results we wanted, but we kept it competitive throughout the match.  They were just a bit more consistent than us and executed their opportunities, which was the main difference maker in all matches.  That's something we'll work on to get to the next level for sure.  Overall, a good trip though.  We learned a lot about our games and these matches will contribute to our development to be playing our best down the road."
NEXT UP: The Thoroughbreds will return to Liberty League play on Saturday, March 30 on the road at Rensselaer.
