Konika Dhull won at second doubles and first singles.
GEORGETOWN, Texas – The 31st-ranked Skidmore College women's tennis team got back on track with a 6-3 match win on the road at #29 Southwestern University on Tuesday.
Â
- Skidmore (3-2) won two out of three doubles matches before winning 4-of-6 singles match ups, two of them in three sets, to clinch the win.
- Grace Truong, Katie Wong, and Konika Dhull each won both of their matches.
- Truong teamed up with Ella Provost to beat Young/Lee 8-5 at first doubles. Truong also got a victory in three sets at second singles (6-0, 4-6, 6-2) over Locke.
- Wong and Dhull got past Wahl/Synoski 8-5 at second doubles. All three doubles matches were 8-5 results. Dhull went on to sweep Young at first singles (6-2, 6-2). Wong bounced back from a first-set loss to outlast Wahl in the fourth singles match (3-6, 6-3, 6-3).

From head coach
Curt Speerschneider: "Very good follow up from yesterday. Today wasn't the prettiest win, but we got the job done. It's almost better to win a tough match like this by just finding a way even though we didn't have our 'A-game.' That's what good teams do and that should give our players a lot of confidence. We did a good job taking control of the match and then closing it out, but it was a bit of a roller coaster in between and Southwestern was not going to back down on their own courts. We'll take this win and we're looking forward to tomorrow to play probably our toughest opponent yet."

NEXT UP: The Thoroughbreds will head back to Trinity to face host Trinity University Wednesday at 1 p.m. Central.
