SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY – The Skidmore College swimming and diving teams continued the early season unbeaten dual meet streak with a pair of victories against New Paltz on Saturday afternoon.
Hosting the annual Stable Game meet, the Thoroughbreds men won by an 145-60 margin after posting eight individual event winners and taking both relays over the Hawks, while the women won by a greater 159-46 margin after also having eight individual event winners alongside both relays.
MEN'S EVENT WINNERS
- The 400-medley relay saw the Thoroughbreds quartet of Nicolas Sodi, Liam Keating, Brendan Lu and Owen Magoon clock in at a top time of 3:35.69, beating out second place by exactly nine seconds.
- In the 200 free, senior Ryan Delfico cruised to a first-place finishing time of 1:48.96. Delfico also won the 100 back after touching first at 54.14.
- Sodi bested the field in the 50 free after sprinting to the wall first at a time of 22.12. The senior showed off the versatility later in the meet by also winning the 500 free with a top time of 5:03.34.
- In the 200 IM, Lu took the win with his top time of 2:00.59. The junior followed up with the top time of 53.86 to win the 100 fly.
- Magoon won the 100 free after clocking in at 49.82.
- In the 100 breast, Keating took the win with his top time of 59.47.
- Closing out the meet in the 400 free relay, the group of Delfico, Magoon, Keegan Scharoun and Thomas Gaughan cruised to a top time of 3:20.77.
WOMEN'S EVENT WINNERS
- In the 400-medley relay, the Skidmore quartet of Ginny Hunt, Katherine Manaresi, Sabrina Reed and Faye Mooney touched first with a time of 4:16.02.
- Sophomore Emily Booth came out on top in the 1000 free after clocking a top time of 11:48.63.
- The 200 free was won by Reed, who cruised past the field by over five seconds with her top time of 2:05.66.
- In the 50 free, Mooney outsprinted the field by clocking the fastest time of 25.61.
- The 200 IM was won by junior Lydia Walker, who posted the fastest time of 2:24.92.
- In the 100 fly, Hunt took the victory as the junior touched first at 1:02.54.
- Sophomore Kelly Hsu won the 100 free after recording the fastest time of 55.06.
- The 100 back was won by Ella Palmet after the junior clocked in at 1:04.95.
- In the 500 free, Manaresi beat out the field with her time of 5:38.65.
- In the 400 free relay, the quartet of Hsu, Julianna Kuznar, Jae Mason and Abigail Maccallister came in first with a combined time of 3:56.89.
