SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College men's and women's swimming & diving teams open their 2024-25 season this weekend with road dual meets against St. Lawrence and Clarkson.

The Thoroughbreds open the season Friday at 4 p.m. against St. Lawrence before taking on Clarkson Saturday at 1 p.m. Skidmore had sweeps of both opponents last year.

THE SCHEDULE AHEAD
Skidmore will host Union on Saturday, Nov. 2 for the team's home opener. Then, after going to Vassar on Nov. 9, the Thoroughbreds will host New Paltz for a Stable Game dual on Nov. 16. Two weeks later, Skidmore closes the fall semester at the Don Richards Invitational at RIT Dec. 6-7. Skidmore hosts one meet in the spring, the Skidmore Sprint Invite, on Feb. 1 leading up to the league championships.

LIBERTY LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Ithaca will once again serve as the host site for the 2025 Liberty League Championships Feb. 19-22. Last year, both the women's and men's teams finished fifth.

STAR RETURNERS
On the men's side,
Nicolas Sodi and
Ryan Delfico were both event winners at last year's championship, while
Liam Keating, Tomás Ruiz, and
Brandon Lis recorded performances that placed them on the podium. On the women's side,
Gretchen Gwitt and
Kelly Hsu,
Faye Mooney, and
Sabrina Reed all swam to individual event podium appearances at championships and were part of record-setting relays. The men's team broke 11 college records last year, and the women had eight. Both team MVPs (Delfico-men, Hsu-women) are returning.

There are eight newcomers to the roster; four on the men's team and four on the women's team.
